My sort of woman is dauntless
She’s seen the worst weathers
And weathered the most mess
She’s shed a thousand feathers
And yester months, grown them anew
She’s watched the sun in hue
Waiting patiently for the rains
To wet the window panes

My sort of woman is beautiful
Her skin the best of its kind
With every swell, every contour, smooth
Ebony ivory, an epitome of my mind
Among every femme of man
My sort of woman is African
