This is a poem submitted to us by a friend, Samuel Akintola. We hope you enjoy it.
The promise land,
Filled with milk and honey.
Her eagle’s wings is tangled;
A tangled wing doth no good
Being hindered from expressing her sovereignty.
Her horses knees are broken;
A broken knee doth no good
Being hindered from expressing her strength.
“Unity and Faith, peace and progress”
What unity or peace does a bloodstained white represents?
What faith or progress is there in a faded green?
Her milk and honey shedding floods of tears,
Begging to be refined at home.
But they are taken abroad cheap and brought back at high prices.
The Giant of Africa,
Where darkness is the prime of the night;
Where the dregs of the society outnumbers the creams.
It will take more to remain Giant!!!
